Large tonsils can be a major contributory factor to snoring.  A tonsillectomy is the surgical procedure in which the tonsils are removed, performed under general anaesthetic and involving a one night stay in hospital.

This procedure can be performed in combination with either laser or radio frequency to stiffen the soft palate.
