This treatment involves the use of a specially designed laser to reshape the soft palate and shorten the uvula at the back of the throat.  LAUP is carried out under local anaesthetic and takes less than thirty minutes.

LAUP is performed in a similar way to dental treatment with the patient seated upright in a dentist’s chair.  Little discomfort is experienced during the operation and the patient will be able to return to work the next day.  About 80% of people find that their snoring is reduced to an acceptable level.
